If you are being inundated with water or suffering damage from storms or cyclones, your tenancy may be affected.  THIS FACT SHEET is for residential tenancies, however most of this information also applies to rooming accommodation such as boarding houses.

Disaster Recovery Support

Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA)
Short-term income support payment to assist individuals who can demonstrate their income has been affected as a direct result of the disaster (Australian Government)

Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment (AGDRP)
$1,000 per eligible adult and $400 per child who have been significantly affected by a major disaster either in Australia or overseas. (Australian Government)

Personal Hardship Assistance Grant
Grants of up to $180 per person, to a maximum of $900 for a family of five or more to eligible people experiencing financial hardship as a result of the floods.

The Emergency Hardship Assistance Grant
If deemed eligible, applicants may receive $180 per person up to $900 for a family of 5 or more. The grant is initially available to claim for 7 days following the activation of the grant in your area. (Queensland Government)
